This new position has been created to support PEJE’s major gifts fundraising and outreach initiatives in order to develop the resources necessary to support its strategic objectives. The Director of Institutional Advancement will report directly to the Executive Director and serve as part of the organization’s senior management team, with an initial goal of doubling the organization’s budget to $8 million. The position works in close collaboration with the volunteer leadership (Board/Partners) and supporters throughout North America. Located in Boston, PEJE offers an excellent benefits package and a flexible work environment.
The ideal candidate has a proven track record in building and growing a complete fund development program and has been successful in prospecting and cultivating high-net worth individuals, and stewarding them toward financial commitments of $25,000 plus. Demonstrated ability to think strategically and communicate effectively are a must, as are excellent presentation, writing, and interpersonal skills, and strong attention to detail. The position requires flexibility and the ability to travel up to one-third of the time.
Responsibilities:
1. Design, implement, and lead a comprehensive fundraising strategy to strengthen PEJE’s fundraising potential through revenue diversification; develop and nurture a robust pipeline of major donors and future Partners; provide comprehensive, timely, and innovative stewardship of prospects.
2. Articulate a clear and compelling vision and case for support to all key constituencies; guide and support the Executive Director in his role as chief spokesperson and fundraiser; collaborate with the Executive Director to steward existing Partners with the goal of maintaining their active long term involvement with PEJE.
3. Staff the Financial Resource Development Committee of the Board ; support all Board members in their roles as identifiers, cultivators, solicitors, and stewards of potential Partners .
4. Provide dynamic and fresh leadership to the development process; engage collaboratively, as a member of the Senior Management Team, to develop resource opportunities; stay abreast of organization-wide issues and contribute creatively to the development and achievement of PEJE’s long-term vision and short-term operating plan.
5. Partner with PEJE’s Director of Finance and Operations to create unified financial reports which clearly reflect both operating and restricted revenues; manage the revenue budget.
