Neighborhood Nexus seeks to empower residents and organizations and to impact policy by gathering and using information to address critical community issues. Its primary goals are to broaden access to information, to monitor quality of life by following conditions and trends at the neighborhood level and to inspire public conversation, deliberation and collaboration on the important issues that affect our metropolitan Atlanta communities. The Community Foundation for Greater Atlanta, the Annie E. Casey Foundation and the United Way of Metropolitan Atlanta have partnered with the Atlanta Regional Commission (ARC); Emory University’s Office of Community and University Partnerships; Georgia State University’s Andrew Young School of Policy Studies; and The Civic League for Regional Atlanta to create Neighborhood Nexus. The Opportunity: The Neighborhood Nexus partners are seeking an executive director to provide high level, strategic, entrepreneurial leadership for this start-up initiative. The executive director will be responsible for facilitating and shaping the continued development of the Neighborhood Nexus vision, mission, strategies and outcomes; creating effective partnerships with a diverse range of constituents including local colleges and universities (to encourage research and analysis) and public and commercial entities (to develop data agreements); galvanizing public, private and civic leaders from across the region (to inform public policy); and connecting with metro Atlanta residents at all levels and locales to ensure their active participation and engagement.
