BACKGROUND: The International Rescue Committee (IRC) provides relief, rehabilitation and post-conflict reconstruction support to victims of oppression and violent conflict around the world. IRC has worked for over seven decades and today is involved in over 20 conflict zones around the world. Our programs focus on achieving sustainable solutions for people affected by conflict. Scope: The Human Resources Associate will provide hands-on administrative and logistical support to the Human Resources Department in the daily recruitment activities, all aspects of employee administration process, and on-going customer service efforts to international staff. The Human Resources Associate will work closely with the HR benefits staff and the Finance Payroll staff and will liaise with Headquarters, International field staff and third parties as needed. Responsibilities: I. EMPLOYEE ADMINISTRATION: Ensure proper maintenance of various HR databases and HR files Effectively liaise with payroll and benefits staff to manage benefits and payroll issues as they arise, as well as handle payroll and benefits administration for new hires Perform various administrative tasks such as faxing, filing, photocopying, FedEx, and regular mail II. EMPLOYMENT LOGISTICS: Assist with New Hire orientation and ensure new hire packet is kept current Coordinate all logistics and orientations for new hires including travel, processing visas, disseminating new hire packet, collecting paperwork, etc. III. CUSTOMER SERVICE: Follow-up on various inquiries from job applicants and current employees Keep up-to-date on policy and procedure updates; Work with the international HR Partner on monitoring and improving support services to IRC overseas staff IV. RECRUITMENT SUPPORT: Process and update employment opportunity postings; Work with HR Partner to maintain list of advertising sources and place job announcement, as well as conduct research to develop new sources for recruitment; Respond to phone calls and general inquiries concerning employment with IRC; Screen Resumes Participate in various job and career fairs, when needed Requirements Bachelor’s degree or equivalent degree Proven interest and commitment to Human Resources Minimum 1 year work experience in an office setting Ability to use sound judgment in maintaining confidentiality of employee information Flexible work attitude: the ability to take initiative and work pro-actively Solid Computer skills: ability to work effectively and accurately with MS Word, Excel, email and Internet applications. Previous experience with Access databases and HRIS systems highly desirable. French language skills a plusPožiadavky na zamestnanca
