POSITION OVERVIEW The Director of Corporate and Foundation Relations (DCFR) has primary responsibility for identifying, cultivating, soliciting and stewarding corporations, corporate foundations, and private foundations. The DCFR is actively engaged in working to establish long-term partnerships and strengthen existing relationships with the corporate and foundation sector, as well as other key stakeholders, which will result in funding for the immediate and long-term goals of the CEE. The position provides the expertise to advance the CEE’s interests by researching and identification sources of support, proactively seeking opportunities to generate new proposals based on corporate guidelines and interests, and by maintaining strong communication ties with corporate and foundation donors and prospects. The Director of Corporate and Foundation Relations reports to the Vice President for Development and Communications, who reports directly to the President and Chief Executive Officer. MAJOR AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITY The Director of Corporate and Foundation Relations will: • Design, implement, and manage a comprehensive fund development plan focused on expanding and enhancing corporate and foundation relationships by directing and coordinating activities related to obtaining corporate and foundation monetary support. • Identify emerging business leadership and industry trends with a special emphasis on developing meaningful corporate alliances and identify, evaluate, cultivate and solicit five- and six figure (and larger) philanthropic commitments to support the mission and goals of the CEE. • Work closely with the VP for Development and Communications to create opportunities to build awareness among corporate and foundation constituencies in order to build and significantly expand positive fund-raising relationships. • Identify key individuals within corporations and foundations and review corporate profiles that suggest potential relationships owing to common interests or objectives. • Initiate opportunities for key CEE staff to interact with corporate and foundation prospects through meetings and CEE site visits. • Work directly with the VP for Development and Communications to develop new approaches to foundations and corporations and coordinate these contacts to initiate the cultivation/fundraising process. • Monitor proposal deadlines manage proposal submissions through the means of a comprehensive prospecting and outreach calendar. • Develop competitive, high quality proposals for corporate and foundation prospects. Maintain a rigorous schedule of contacts with corporate and foundation representatives, creating moves management plans related to them. • Develop and maintain compelling Powerpoint presentations and tailored information kits for funding prospects. • Maintain a high quality stewardship process for active corporate and foundation prospects and donors, working closely with program staff to ensure the timely delivery of quality reports and evaluations. • Support the overall goals of the Development and Communications department by assisting with writing and messaging projects as needed.
