Living Water International (LWI) is a faith-based organization that provides clean, safe drinking water to people in developing countries where high rates of illness and death exist due to waterborne diseases. LWI operates from its headquarters in Houston, Texas, and is presently serving 26 countries through 45 stateside staff and 250+ International staff, partners, contractors and volunteers. Today, approximately 7 million people are drinking clean, safe water through the efforts of LWI. The mission of LWI is to demonstrate the love of God by providing desperately needed clean water and medical attention, along with the “living water” of the Gospel of Jesus Christ, which alone satisfies the deepest thirst. The Position The Vice President of Development will operate out of Living Water’s headquarters in Houston. Reporting to the President and CEO, the Vice President for Development is responsible for leading and managing all fundraising programs at Living Water, including, but not limited to the following: • Major donor cultivation through major donor fundraising representatives • Appeals and campaigns specifically for non-major donors • Foundations and grant-writing (both governmental and private) • Galas and other fundraising events, communications and public relations The primary thrust of Living Water’s fundraising program is currently Major Gifts. However, Living Water is interested in developing and broadening its fundraising efforts to include all aspects of philanthropic giving, including establishing an effective campaign to obtain donations from non-major sources, increasing funding from foundations and government grants, and translating elements from Living Water’s successful annual Houston gala to fundraising events in other cities. Additionally, expanding Living Water’s team of fundraising professionals will be critical to success.
