Wellspring Advisors, a private philanthropic consulting firm, seeks a New York City-based Program Officer for its LGBT Rights Program. The Program Officer will work under the direction of the Program Director, International Human Rights and LGBT Rights. JOB SUMMARY The LGBT Rights Program currently includes a focus on several issues, including marriage equality, national LGBT advocacy, state and local advocacy, out-of-home youth, excluded populations and international LGBT rights. While the areas of responsibility of this position will be shared with the current Program Officer, it is expected that this position will carry primary responsibility for his or her own set of funding recommendations and grantee relationships. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES • Investigate and evaluating grant proposals for domestic LGBT docket. • Conduct site visits with current and potential grantees of the docket. • Conduct evaluations of grantee programs and monitoring use of grant funds. • Assist in the development of funding strategy and identification of programmatic goals. • Create client presentations, including funding recommendation. This includes reviewing and summarizing funding proposals and reports from grantees and potential grantees. • Create donor education material/memos on LGBT and related issues. This includes research and analysis of substantive LGBT issues, communities and concerns. • Create yearly work plans and annual reports. • Responsible for managing special collaborative funding opportunities, to include identifying opportunities for strategic collaboration with other funders to leverage Wellspring’s investments • Convene grantees and funders for strategy discussions and analysis of topics in the field. • Promote the field of philanthropy through active participation in funder affinity groups on issues related to LGBT concerns, human rights and other issues. • Supervise consultants and facilitators contracted to provide services for docket sponsored projects. • Attend conferences on field specific issue areas. • Perform other duties and responsibilities as requestedPožiadavky na zamestnanca
