Associate Director, Campaign Partnerships WITNESS uses video to open the eyes of the world to human rights violations. We empower people to transform personal stories of abuse into powerful tools for justice, promoting public engagement and policy change. WITNESS was co-founded in 1992 by musician and activist Peter Gabriel as the realization of Peter\'s vision of capturing the stories of human rights atrocities on video and putting them at the forefront of human rights campaigns. Since then, WITNESS has trained and partnered with thousands of human rights activists to utilize video for change in over 70 countries all over the world. WITNESS, Inc. (www.witness.org) is seeking a highly-motivated, self-directed individual to join the WITNESS Program team as the Associate Director, Campaign Partnerships. The Associate Program Director, Campaign Partnerships oversees implementation of all advocacy campaign work at WITNESS. S/he provides strategic guidance on programmatic advocacy efforts, ensures coordination of Campaign Partnerships throughout the organization, and acts as a spokesperson on Campaign Partnerships. Programmatic Strategy and Oversight • With the Program Director, develop overarching campaign priorities; • Co-develop monitoring & evaluation mechanisms for campaign advocacy activity, and protocols for program management; • Monitor and evaluate programmatic priorities, campaign plans, and budgets, and ensure campaigns’ progress and impact are achieved; • Provide programmatic activity and progress data for biannual performance updates; • Perform campaign analysis (including creating case studies); • Review and contribute to organizational documents relating to partnership campaigns; • Co-develop the annual program plan and budget for campaign partnerships with the Sr. Program Manager. Departmental Management • Manage 4-5 Program staff who focus on campaigns partnerships; • As needed, assist in recruitment, interviewing, selection, and training of relevant program staff; • Supervise relevant interns, volunteers, fellows, and e-interns. Advocacy • Oversee strategy and implementation of video—including the planning, producing, editing and distribution—in partner advocacy campaigns; • With the Program team, develop advocacy frameworks for partnership campaigns; • Share advocacy outcomes from case studies and best practices in support of human rights defenders, and to further WITNESS’ mission and program priorities. Producing • Oversee the execution of specific video projects both at WITNESS and at the local level, including pre-production, production, marketing, and distribution; • Coordinate with Media Operations on audiovisual resource allocation; • Review and provide feedback on productions and accompanying materials produced by Program staff. Training and Knowledge Sharing • Contribute to WITNESS’ online training initiatives by writing regular blog posts on video-for-change practices; • Collaborate with the Video Advocacy Training Manager on training support to campaigns. External Presence, Development, Communications and Alliance Building • Support the Executive Director, Program Director and the Development Team on fundraising for relevant projects by providing input on proposals, budgets, and reports, and by participating in relevant donor meetings; • Create and contribute to content for use on WITNESS’ website(s) and on social networking sites (including blogging, tweeting, and other social messaging) with respect to partner campaigns activities, updates, and relevant news and information; • Work with Communications to develop cohesive messaging materials around partnership campaigns; • Participate in public presentations and media relations as a spokesperson for WITNESS, with particular reference to programmatic work.
