The Position: Safe Horizon is seeking a seasoned, creative, and forward-thinking individual to become its next Chief Program Officer (“CPO”). The Chief Program Officer will be part of Safe Horizon’s senior team, reporting directly to the CEO. He or she will have approximately six direct reports and overall responsibility for program staff numbering 550. The Agency has recently completed a five year strategic plan, a central focus of which calls for standardizing client service practices across 60 locations and 10 program areas. The successful candidate will be able to design, direct and implement broad changes in practice, focusing on safety assessment, risk management and the needs presented by the client. Excellent organizational judgment will also be necessary, as some reorganizing of responsibilities is likely to be necessary as a result of strategic plan goals. As a critical member of the senior management team, the CPO must be a talented manager with the ability to instill direction and leadership. The candidate must have strong interpersonal skills, excellent written and oral communication skills, a hands-on management style and the ability to address and solve problems or issues as they arise. In addition, he or she will be diplomatic, of the highest integrity, and possess sound judgment. Specific Responsibilities · Work with the Senior Team to create and implement vision to innovate and enhance programs to retain Safe Horizon’s leadership position in the field. Position Safe Horizon as leading authority on direct service to victims of violence and abuse. · Provide expert knowledge in a range of areas of victimization or closely related field. · Manage Safe Horizon’s large and complex program budget of approximately $48 million comprised of approximately 150 government, corporate, and foundation grants. · Liaise with a wide range of external stakeholders, including government, corporate and private funders; as well as other government, private and non-profit partners. · Champion policy change at the City and State level to better meet the changing needs of Safe Horizon’s clients. · Represent Safe Horizon in the media, at conferences and in meetings with external stakeholders. · Carry out strategic planning priorities through the development and implantation of annual program operating plans. · Oversee management of funder contracts and program expenses to ensure programs’ ongoing ability to effectively and efficiently deliver on Safe Horizon’s mission and meet contract objectives. · Ensure consistency between programs in delivering client services, including the development of clear and measurable outcomes, and a system for ongoing program evaluation. · Serve as spokesperson for Safe Horizon as it relates to victim services, including the media, conferences, meetings with government officials, community-based organizations, and potential donors. · Expand the organization’s capacity to disseminate, on both a local and a national level, knowledge about victimization and recovery. · Act as a compelling advocate for Safe Horizon’s programs with internal and external stakeholders.Požiadavky na zamestnanca
