The Senior Vice President/Chief Operations Officer (COO) will report to the President and be responsible for all internal systems, budgeting, and operations. Energy Foundation has recently gone through a period of rapid growth and there is need to evolve operational procedures to fit EF’s new size and throughput. This is a pivotal role and EF seeks a creative and accomplished leader with a passionate concern for the environment. The successful COO candidate will be extraordinarily skillful in evolving and guiding complex organizational systems and will assume stewardship of operations and driving continuous improvement. S/he must be able to collaborate and listen well, and is also expected to give clear direction and act decisively. International experience is desired, but not at the expense of operational and organizational management experience. Responsibilities The COO will lead and manage the internal operations of the Energy Foundation directly supervising the CFO, CIO, Manager of Professional Development and the Grants Administrator, and will manage core operations including HR, IT, grants, and legal departments. The COO is charged with establishing highly efficient and effective internal organization processes and infrastructure that will allow EF to continue to operate at a high level and fulfill its mission. The COO will communicate all pertinent organizational developments to the President, while displaying the operational maturity to know when the President should be pulled in or deferred to on decisions. The COO’s responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following: Leadership & Management • Serve as a creative collaborator with the President, providing leadership in establishing and implementing organization-wide priorities, including running senior team meetings, managing the annual budget process, and helping to develop a culture of management at the Energy Foundation • Inspire a culture of collaboration by encouraging EF management and staff to view and conduct themselves as members of a truly integrated organization • Collaborate with the senior leadership team to make consistent and progressive steps toward organizational and programmatic consistency and sustainability • Effectively communicate work plans and priorities derived from the organization’s strategic plan by partnering with senior leaders to develop coordinated accountabilities, objectives, and associated budgets • Partner with U.S. and China Program Deputy Directors and China Program Chief Representative to establish monitoring systems ensuring appropriate and timely communications with grantees Strengthening Infrastructure • Liaise with managers to understand all necessary aspects and needs of operational development and ensure they are fully informed of operational objectives, purposes and achievements • Assess, evaluate, and provide guidance to programmatic activities ensuring efficient workflow systems, decision-making procedures, work-plan monitoring, and inter-program communications • Work with the senior leadership team to translate organizational planning into discrete, practical short- and long-term goals, objectives, and manageable activities • Collaborate with senior staff to design and implement a method to measure organizational and management performance against goals Board relations/donor relations • Manage donor systems including creation of timelines, reporting structure and procedures for financial and grant reports • Provide recommendations and input on key fundraising and operational initiatives • Work with the President to set board calendar and agenda, and take lead role in board presentations regarding operational objectives and progress • Support the President in fundraising systemsPožiadavky na zamestnanca
