Position Overview The Executive Director will, in close collaboration with the Board of Directors, lead the organization to its next exciting level of effectiveness and impact by developing and implementing strategic, program and business plans in direct support of the mission and vision. Specific Duties and Responsibilities of the Executive Director • Develop the strategic and tactical plans needed to drive the vision and mission of MSAF, as well as raise its visibility within the Microsoft community and far beyond • Create a program plan for the organization that results in MSAF becoming the preferred charitable activity for Microsoft Alumni and other philanthropists • Communicate regularly with the Board of Directors, as well as with the larger community • Assist the Board in managing relationships with Microsoft Corporation for all collaborative programs • Work with key volunteers to manage and implement the Marketing/Communications and far-reaching IT plans to connect the membership with one another and opportunities • Develop and adhere to a detailed annual business plan and budget • Develop methods for building active and successful relationships with existing and new donors • Develop methods for building and maintaining successful relationships/partnerships with other charitable organizations • Plan and execute events, as needed, to achieve organizational goals, including the annual celebration event, a gathering of over 500 alumni, friends and family • Oversee the development and maintenance of a donor, partner and volunteer database • Lead, direct and continually enhance major initiatives • Recruit and develop new Board members • Provide financial and administrative oversight, including the refinement of internal operating procedures, to all aspects of the foundation • Create and oversee volunteer management plan • Supervise internal staff
