GENERAL SUMMARY This is an outstanding opportunity to play an integral role in urban, public education reform. The Director of Online Learning will develop and execute Teacher U’s efforts to expand and improve its online presence. Teacher U is determined to be at the cutting edge of online learning by using established best practices and new techniques to improve the quality of instruction it offers to enrolled teachers, resulting in better outcomes for the students these teachers are serving. ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES • Play a lead role in creating a strategic vision for online learning at Teacher U; • Serve as Teacher U’s resident expert on online education; • Spearhead the design of new online courses for Teacher U, including translating previously in-person lessons to an online format; • Manage a team of people creating online content; • Serve as the intersection between Teacher U’s Teaching and Learning Team and Teacher U’s Technology and Knowledge Management Team with respect to developing new online content; • Plan, execute, and project manage video shoots and other media to be used in online modules; and • Serve as the liaison between external content providers and Teacher U’s internal teams.
