Curriculum and Content Manager - NYC Teaching Fellows Brooklyn, NY We are currently seeking a Curriculum and Content Manager for our New York City Teaching Fellows (NYCTF) program. NYCTF is a program of the NYC Department of Education that is based at the school district’s Brooklyn offices and staffed with TNTP employees. The Curriculum and Content Manager will be a TNTP employee based in Brooklyn, NY. This position is available to begin in September, 2010. The Program Because effective teachers dramatically increase their students\' academic success, the mission of the NYC Teaching Fellows program is to recruit and prepare high-quality, dedicated individuals to become teachers who raise student achievement in the New York City classrooms that need them most. From over 165,000 applicants over the past ten years, NYCTF has provided New York City classrooms with over 15,000 high-quality new teachers, concentrated in high-need subject areas such as bilingual education, math, science, Spanish, and special education. Role and Responsibilities The Curriculum and Content Manager is a member of the Training and Support team, which is responsible for the high quality planning, implementation and evaluation of a rigorous pre-service training. The Curriculum and Content Manager will focus on ensuring the quality of all curricular products and content area specific training provided to Fellows as well as oversight of our Fellow Performance Management processes throughout pre-service training. Specific responsibilities include but are not limited to: • Developing and/or customizing all curricular products for Fellows and program faculty that arise from new contract initiatives, ongoing program innovation and current program offerings • Ensuring that all curricular products effectively prepare program faculty to deliver high quality instruction grounded in the Teaching for Student Achievement framework to program participants • Ensuring that all curricular products effectively prepare program participants to be effective classroom teachers • Developing and implementing content specific trainings and seminars to ensure that Fellows are prepared as well as possible to teach in their content area • Overseeing implementation of content specific opportunities offered to applicants and Fellows, (for example, maintaining our online course, Introduction to Special Education) • Collecting and analyzing data relating to all aspects of Fellows’ pre-service training to recommend and implement ongoing program improvement • Track Fellow performance throughout all aspects of pre-service training and make recommendations for intervention and support based on findings • Reporting regularly to TNTP staff and site clients on Fellow performance throughout pre-service training This position offers the successful candidate the opportunity to have a profound impact on how teachers are prepared to teach and the quality of teachers in schools throughout New York City.Požiadavky na zamestnanca
