Boys Town serves as a beacon of hope for America’s children and families by providing life-changing care that produces positive outcomes for at-risk youth. As part of the 93-year old national organization, Boys Town New York serves approximately 500 boys and girls annually. Children come to our programs through NYS Juvenile Justice system and receive services in the Boys Town model at homes, located in Brooklyn, twenty-four hours a day, seven days a week. Boys Town New York is seeking to expand its current Board of Directors. Board Members should be willing to attend four quarterly meetings annually and fulfill the following responsibilities: • Serve as an advocate for the agency’s mission and purpose; • Understand, follow and help strengthen the agency’s programs and services; • Serve on one of the Board Committees to provide expertise and oversight: Finance, Executive, Development, or Public Affairs; • Ensure appropriate resource allocation; • Ensure effective strategic planning and implementation; • Enhance the organization’s public standing; • Commit to “giving or getting” a minimum in donations of $30,000 over a three-year period; • Support fundraising events and assist in securing additional donations and resources for the organization; • Ensure ethical accountability; • Comply with conflict of interest and confidentiality policies; • Communicate, on an ongoing basis, information necessary for effective governance; • Be creative, offer ideas and develop new ways to inspire others to get involved with Boys Town New York.Požiadavky na zamestnanca
