The Vice President is part of the senior team of the GPF, reporting to the CEO and working closely with two other VP level colleagues. S/he has lead responsibility for design and implementation of the GPF’s signature program, its Annual Conference, as well as programs that are held throughout the year. The core constituencies for these programs are principals of family foundations from the US and abroad. However, the GPF also serves executives of private, corporate and community foundations, primarily in the US. The Vice President supports the GPF strategic planning and fundraising efforts and supervises two Program Officers. The ideal candidate will be confident and experienced in managing teams under tight deadlines, will work effectively with senior colleagues and demonstrate the utmost discretion and sensitivity to the needs of donors. S/he will have deep exposure to and knowledge of the role the philanthropic sector can play in advancing economic development. Overseeing the work of the Program Officers, the VP Philanthropy Programs: Surveys the Field • So as to ensure that GPF programs remain at the cutting edge of change, the VP monitors developments in the practice of philanthropy and social investing, international economic development and related fields; tracks promising philanthropic initiatives and cross-sector partnerships designed to achieve social goals; • Identifies potential speakers and initiatives to be highlighted in GPF programs, consistent with the GPF tradition of featuring emerging leaders and well-known marquis speakers. Designs and Executes the Annual Conference and other programs • In consultation with the CEO, develops annual conference agenda, identifies themes, topics and speakers, and coordinates speaker recruitment and partner involvement; • Oversees all aspects of the Annual Conference, including logistical arrangements, directing GPF Program Officers, members of the World Affairs Council conference team, and volunteers; • Provides content for GPF marketing and other collateral materials, coordinating video and social media related to the conference; • Edits an annual monograph containing speeches made at the Annual Conference; • Identifies opportunities for on-site and travel programs with speakers, and manages related research, speaker recruitment, audience building and logistical arrangements; Develops on-line Resources on GPF website • Conceives and builds website resources with content partners, including members-only resources for GPF donors Plans Strategically • Contributes to the development of the GPF’s strategic plan and business model helping to ensure that strategic planning is informed by the knowledge gained in designing programs, and that the program content is informed by the strategic plan. • Bearing in mind the GPF’s commitment to setting clear goals, tracking progress, assessing outcomes and evaluating the impact of the Forum, the VP will help in the design of conference/program surveys and other evaluation tools so that the GPF can continually learn and improve. Raises Funds and Builds Membership As part of a senior team, the VP helps design and execute both a membership strategy and a fundraising plan for the GPF, aimed at both building community and achieving long-term financial sustainability. Toward that end, s/he: • Identifies foundations, individual donors, government agencies, and/or corporations that are potential members or supporters of the GPF and its activities; • Drafts proposals seeking financial support for the GPF, helps to design and monitor budgets; and writes interim and final narrative and financial reports to the Forum’s supporters; • Prepares regular reports on GPF activities, offering benchmarks for progress.Požiadavky na zamestnanca
