Opportunities of the Position Reporting to the Chief Development Officer, the Director of Development and Communications will work in close collaboration with the development committee, school staff, and volunteers to expand upon existing fundraising and external relations programs. Working with the Chief Development Officer, the Director of Development and Communications will be responsible for the annual design, integration, and execution of effective marketing, communications, and development goals for BCCS. Responsibilities Fundraising and Development ●Implement annual strategic development plan developed with the Chief Development Officer, to support the school’s short- and long-term capital and programmatic funding needs. Assist in preparing, maintaining, and updating action lists and managing the follow-up process on all items. ●With Chief Development Officer, research, cultivate, and solicit potential funders and donors, ensuring a diverse funding pool made up of individuals, foundations, and corporations. I. Foundations ●Manage a portfolio of 25-50 current and new corporate and foundation donors, overseeing all details of the grant writing process, including writing grants in collaboration with grant writer, reporting, stewardship, and serving as the primary liaison to the funders. ●Develop articulate, compelling proposal narratives that are demonstrative of BCCS\'s high rates of success and impact. ●Carry out research to develop and maintain a thorough knowledge of existing and potential funders to fill our pipeline and shape appropriate strategies for obtaining funding from each funder. ●Manage the preparation and submission of reports to funders. ●Track all aspects of grants to assure compliance with grant requirements and timely renewals. II. Annual Fund ●Manage a portfolio of 50-100 current individual and corporate donors and prospects. ●Implement annual fund campaign developed with the Chief Development Officer, including preparation of materials, organization of events, prospect research, solicitation, follow-up and stewardship. Communications and Marketing ●Create and distribute marketing materials for the school, including the annual report of gifts, brochures, and quarterly newsletters. ●Write and edit proposals, presentations, letters, and other fundraising materials in a clear, concise, compelling, and strategic manner. ●Market the school to public, private, local, state, and national organizations through timely updates on important developments via letters, e-mail blasts, press releases, social media, and web site. ●Cultivate relationships with local media; plan and publicize press events as needed. Donor Database Management ●Update and maintain all donor records on our database, including records of gifts and various reports. Gift Processing ●Manage all aspects of gift processing, including records, acknowledgements, receipts, and stewardship. Special Events ●Plan and coordinate all aspects of special events, including benefit and cultivation events such as the Collegiate Cup Trivia Challenge, special speakers, and Visitor Mornings. Volunteer Coordination ●With the Director of Special Projects, conduct school tours. ●Build on the Collegiate Council relationship by maintaining and creating new opportunities to engage the members. ●With the Director of Special Projects, oversee the Student Ambassador Program General ●With the Chief Development Officer, support the work of the Board on all development and external relations issues. ●With the Chief Development Officer, support the work of the Board’s development committee, including the recording of minutes and preparation of monthly updates for the committee. ●Work collaboratively with BCCS colleagues to gather input, knowledge, and skills with the goal of achieving the best possible fundraising results. ●Assist in other such duties as determined by the Chief Development Officer and the Executive Director.Požiadavky na zamestnanca
