Job Title and Description: Senior MES Engineer The Senior MES Engineer is a member of the Powertrain Manufacturing Engineering team. He/She will lead the implementation of Tesla’s first Manufacturing Execution System. This is an exciting opportunity to drive the replacement of paper traveler based traceability with a state-of-the-art MES. The ideal candidate has a proven record of success in the implementation and maintenance of enterprise-scale MES in a medium-volume manufacturing environment. The Senior MES Engineer will leverage his/her experience and the experience of our initial implementation to lead the rollout of MES to multiple production lines. He/She takes pride in his/her hands-on and analytical abilities, organization skills and attention to detail. Essential Functions and Duties: • Lead the requirements gathering, technical specification, and the design and development of complex MES projects • Lead and contribute to software architecture design, development of software applications, and integration into enterprise systems • Lead enterprise-scale MES software introduction and subsequent roll-out to future production lines • Prepare and implement the long-term MES support strategy • Participate in the selection, purchasing and installation of the line side hardware required for MES (touch screens, barcode readers, computers/terminals, etc.) • Participate in the selection and management of the personnel assigned to MES projects • Develop and validate software test plans • Work closely with Operations, Manufacturing Engineering, Quality, and Supply Chain teams • Interact with teams of engineers from multiple disciplines Skills and Experience: • BS or higher degree in a relevant engineering discipline • 5-7+ years experience working in a medium and/or high volume manufacturing environment • 5+ years experience in software development/programming • 3+ years experience designing and implementing MES applications • 3+ years of project management experience • Strong exposure to MES technologies, including automated data collection, process workflow, database applications, scheduling, and interface to ERP systems • Strong programming skills (Javascript/VB/C/C++, SQL, XML) • Enthusiasm for creating robust manufacturing processes and resulting MES workflows • Thorough knowledge of and experience with a variety of manufacturing processes • Understanding of Lean, Six Sigma, and supply chain principles • Experience reading and interpreting Manufacturing Instructions, Manufacturing Alerts and Operation Sequences • Strong analytic problem solving skills • Able to work well under pressure while managing competing demands and tight deadlines • Remain engaged, proactive and positive in tough circumstances, owning assignments and taking full accountability for their success • Maintain flexibility and adaptability to changing priorities and assignments, coping with rapidly changing information • Work efficiently and productively in independent and team settings • Communicate clearly using excellent written and verbal skills • Strong organization skills with meticulous attention to detail • Mastery of Word, Excel, Visio and PowerPointPožiadavky na zamestnanca
